im lookin for a bit of advice.
im always trying to get better. every game i play in, i do my best to improve on something. a lot of the time, i fail miserably. a lot of the time, i wreck ****.
ive tried to reach out to lance and cubsfan, but never got a response. i would like to get some conversation going about heavy tactics. i would like to get some suggestions on how to play better. some of u heavies are better than me, and some of u have been wrecked in proto or advanced gear by me in my militia gear. but i wanna get better.
i would appreciate any advice u can offer, and maybe i can do the same. keep the trolling to a minimum, plz.
btw, im also open to some squadding up to get & give pointers if anyone is interested in that. |

holy ****, guys. thats some great advice!!
dont get me wrong, im hardly a newbie. im at 7.3 mil SP and have been rolling as heavy the entire time, and have been in dust since closed beta. (although i only played off and on then)
its just that i find myself missing the obvious sometimes. and that is unacceptable with my mindset of "never stop getting better"
@lance - yeah, i kno dood. im still hoping u wouldnt mind grouping up sometime, 1v1.
@everyone else: thx for posting and giving me these tips. i hope everyone who posted learned something from someone else while they were at it.
honestly, when i play, i wait for my comrades to drop an uplink b4 i spawn so i dont have to traverse the wild frontier. i run militia gear almost exclusively. i strafe (which is NOT easy to do as a heavy) i aim at faces, i crouch, i do actually find choke points, i do decently against those pesky scouts. sometimes tho......depending on the map or lack of good team mates.....i get absolutely smoked. i do have some good logis to play with, but some of them arent always on. and i am guilty of getting excited and bullrushing ahead without thinking lol
i dont use any modules except shield extender & recharger, and armor plates & repairer. im currently able to use complex repairer & recharger, but only advanced plates & extenders. i use the std smg as my sidearm, and was actually considering going into flux grenades (it dawned on me only recently that that might b a good idea. thats wut im talking about when i say i sometimes 'miss the obvious')
just a side question, btw.......wtf is the difference, if any, between the basic suits and sentinel? and if there is none (besides module slots) then wuts the point of having them? ive seen no difference other than how the slots are placed, so i was wondering if i missed something.

The sentinel suit is the joke of the heavy community. Utterly worthless and anyone who goes full proto in it deserves to be called a bad heavy. I want to also remind you on how to use HMG - it has a slow turning speed but using R1 to aim makes a difference to your DPS. The trick is aim in front of there movements then using R1 for just a moment to get in some extra damage - never use it for more then a few moments. Strafing - as pointless as it seems for us - is still vital to making sure every bullet doesn't land on us. Every little bit helps in the competitive field.
and thats why im glad im getting a respec :D
and everything else u said.....i do. even press R1 to aim

Deal with it ;) Heavies have the best community in dust with the best rivalries. Will look forward to seeing you in PC someday. So very few of us stuck in it all the way and a lot of corps are paying for there poor judgement. No one holds an objective like we do.
i agree. especially after seeing us all on here after the uprising build came out lol. we were up in arms over that ish.
currently, my corp is biding our time, grinding and training. itll b a while b4 u see superhero in PC. but when u do....... ;)
thx again for posting

so, now i see myself getting my ass handed to me on a almost daily basis.
i run my militia gear and im always going against murder taxis (i know how to counter them, but theyre still a pain in the ass) and lots of try-hards in proto gear.
my flux grenades + hmg + armor repairer serve me well, but manoman is it getting harder and harder to keep enjoying the game.

the ADV heavy dropsuit is sweet @28k. its like the old type b. try your toxin first then whip out that big old HMG. dont run the HMG often but this works well. you can close the gap and have more hp when you get there.
huh? u mean use the smg as primary? dude, the smg doesnt have that much more range, if any, than the HMG
*hi btw. did someone get in contact with u? |

Iam a forge gunner so i got some Toxin skill. seems to run faster. its way more accurate than the HMG. try it. Back in chrome i perforated many a Heavy with the toxin. havnt received anything yet. we had a busy day we just absorbed two smaller corps. tons of mail. plus i was grinding for about 12 hours.
yeah, i noticed u were on for a good while. and i KNOW ure a frickin forge gunner......u killed me a few times with it. alright, thx for the feedback. ill give the toxin a try when i put some more sp into smg. im not sure ill go full FG tho.....dont like using them too much.
you dont need SP into SMG to make toxin any good - it just is. I haven't put a point into it and I get plenty of kills.
Also think of saving 500,000 SP and getting Logi-LAV - murder taxi was never such fun ;)
wut i meant was, im not sure if i want to invest MORE sp into smgs or not. i use the basic and it serves me well when i need to pull it out. im at 8.2 mil sp, and im focused on my armor & shields atm.
